This past spring, when it felt like winter would NEVER end and we were desperate for a place to play and run around – I started googling to try and find something for us to do! With the unpredictable weather (and my pregnant self not wanting to be out in the snow) I needed a place to bring my son to burn off some energy while my daughter was at school. I needed something that was:
1 – actually open (this was when many businesses were still closed)
2 – taking Covid protocols seriously
3 – a place where my son could explore and have fun with minimal help from me
I remembered my husband bringing my daughter to a birthday party at Altitude Chicago the year prior, and when I looked at their website sure enough they were open – so I signed us up for toddler time! Needless to say, after being there for a hour we signed up for a membership on the spot.
Altitude Chicago is a dream come true for kiddos (and parents), and we spend our mornings there at least once a week. Especially during toddler time, kids ages 2-6 have full run of the place and can bounce their little hearts out! The “trampoline park” has quickly become my son’s most beloved place, so when it came time to think about a 3rd birthday party for him there was no question in my mind where we we would go! Especially with the busy summer we’ve had, their all inclusive packages can’t be beat – you really just need to show up with a cake! We had the best experience, and here’s why:
* FUN FOR ALL AGES: I love that a party at Altitude Chicago works for all ages! We were able to invite families with younger & older siblings, knowing that everyone would have a great time (even the adults)! There is a special area for kids 2-6, but in our time slot of 10am-12pm it felt totally fine to have the little guys running right along with the big kids. If you are scheduling a party with just little kids, you can even schedule it during toddler time.
* ALL INCLUSIVE: The party packages offered by Altitude Chicago have everything you need, with the option to add on more. Our package came with 3 pizzas, so we added a few extras to make sure that the parents could eat too. It worked perfectly! The pizza and other food is ordered from Salerno’s, and I thought the pizza was really delicious. Altitude Chicago sent a catering menu the week prior to the party with a TON of options, perfect for feeding a few kids OR a huge crowd! The menu was specifically created by Salerno’s for Altitude Chicago (you can’t order the food on your own – Altitude Chicago takes care of the order, which is ideal because everything is timed perfectly). No outside food or drink is allowed, but the catering options are super extensive. Honestly, having a menu to order from eliminated the decision fatigue of bringing a ton of extra snack & food items. The only item you need to bring is the “treat”, so we picked up cupcakes – SO EASY!
* BEST SERVICE: A week before the party, with rising case numbers, I started having second thoughts about having everyone in a private room for pizza & cake (as I knew a lot of adults would be there too). The private rooms are super spacious, but to be safe I thought it might make people feel more comfortable to be in the main atrium area by the windows. Without hesitation, Altitude worked with us to make the switch! You also have a designated party host for the duration of the party, which was absolutely amazing. She helped keep things moving and organized, which I so appreciated!
* AWESOME ATMOSPHERE: There are very few playspaces for kids that I would say I actually find enjoyable or relaxing! The main atrium at Altitude Chicago is spacious, inviting, and modern – meaning I actually enjoy being there as an adult! Scheduling an indoor party means you don’t have to constantly track our unpredictable Chicago weather, which was absolutely amazing considering we drove there in the rain. The kids were able to jump and play for 90 minutes (which was MORE than enough), then relax at our party table for pizza & cake – it was perfect!
I could go on and on about how much fun we had, but if you are looking to schedule a party at Altitude Chicago I’d recommend scheduling ASAP to secure your day & time. When I was checking out there were 2 other people scheduling birthday parties next to me!! You can book your party easily on the Altitude Chicago website, or give them a call at 312-291-9057. Also be sure to check out the Altitude Chicago membership, it’s truly the best value for kids activities in the city (I’m not exaggerating). It’s $20 per MONTH, plus a one time activation fee of $20 – and the parent membership is only $10! So worth it!
