Every year around this time, I start obsessing over my family’s holiday card. First and foremost, that means getting the PERFECT family photo! Luckily, we have the best of the best right here in Lincoln Park – Classic Kids Photography (1003 W Armitage Ave.).
We have the most gorgeous photos of my daughter from Classic Kids framed in our home, and they are truly works of art. Even though she is now much older than she is in the pictures, we will honestly never take them down – they are timeless.
My family visited Classic Kids in early November to get some updated family pictures with all four of us, and I just had to share a little bit about our experience – especially since this was our first time back in any sort of studio since the start of the pandemic. This was also our first time doing in-studio family pictures with both of my kids (in the past we have done quick outdoor mini sessions, thinking that my son would not last much longer than 5 minutes). Allow me to gush a little, because from the moment we walked in the door – we were blown away!
Crystal and Monica immediately engaged with my kids to make them feel comfortable – and made it clear that we were there to have fun! I had to change into my outfit when we arrived (too risky to wear anything I want photographed while carrying kids around), and they started right in with pictures of my son while I was changing. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing from the dressing room – these ladies WORK! They were breaking out the props, on the floor, jumping up and down, spotting my kids in tricky poses – doing anything and everything to get my kids to smile! My daughter is usually a hard sell on pictures – but they had her absolutely comfortable (and giggling like crazy). They were able to work SO quickly with very little time between setups, which was PERFECT for my kids – no time for melt-downs!
My family and I have been significantly limiting any indoor activities, so we were extremely happy to find that Classic Kids is doing everything possible to keep their clients safe during the pandemic! Before visiting, we received a summary of safety protocols and a covid waiver in advance. Upon entry, we were offered hand sanitizer and did a temperature check. Hand sanitizer is kept within reach for the whole session, as they are hands on! We were the only family in the studio during our appointment, and everyone in the studio wore a mask for the duration of the photoshoot. When it was time for each member of our family to get in front of the camera, we only removed our masks at that time. Currently, only one shoot and one ordering appointment are allowed at the same time in order to ensure proper distancing. Aside from the occasional re-positioning, we were all able to maintain a very comfortable distance! Classic Kids also has multiple air purifiers running daily, and does a thorough sanitation between each appointment. I felt totally safe the entire time we were at Classic Kids!
