Burst Into Books is set to host their 2nd Annual W.O.W. Literary Festival this summer at the Dr. Conrad Worrill
Track & Field Center at Gately Park in Chicago on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 11am – 5pm and will feature talent such as Author Jason Reynolds, Illustrator Jerry Craft, and Moderator Dr. Eve L. Ewing, just to name a few.
The 2nd Annual W.O.W. Literary Festival is the ultimate celebration of books-to-be-written, books-to-be-read, and designed with young readers
and writers of all ages in mind!
The festival will consists of: interactive literacy and art programming, opportunities for youth and families to connect with community
resources, animated storytelling by minority authors and illustrators, a diverse group of book vendors and installations for all ages,
story-based dance, interactive writing workshops, Indigenous and African styled drumming, a wide range of live music and entertainment, healthy
food choices and snacks, giveaways and so much more!! Also the festival is supported by “Chicago Presents”, a community grant funded by the City
of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Event Department..
When asked, what positive impact does The 2nd Annual W.O.W. Literary Festival provides to the southside community of Chicago, one past
attendee stated “This festival is a true celebration of the importance of books. A place for people of all ages who appreciate that making
great literature accessible for young people can change the world.”
